Measurement & Calibration Services

NKKK undertakes compilation of tank gauge tables for tanks of all purposes, shapes, and sizes, whether on land or ships, based on extensive experience and achievements.
We calibrate tanks on land and vessels using advanced instruments including laser distance meters, total stations, and 3D laser scanners. Our proprietary software immediately analyzes measurement data, delivering accurate tank gauge tables with rapid turnaround.
We also attend on-site, both in Japan and overseas, to provide accuracy certification based on required standards for custody transfer instruments such as level gauges, thermometers, and pressure gauges attached to ship and shore tanks.
Furthermore, NKKK conducts surveys and inspections as an “Authorized Inspection Organization” (Appraisal Business under the Port Transportation Business Act and ISO9001 registered business), and our certificates are widely utilized not only for obtaining customs approval (Customs Circular No. 545) but also overseas as “proof of trust.”
In recent years, international decarbonization has accelerated and the use of LNG as ship fuel has increased. NKKK conducts LNG bunker vessel and LNG fuel tank gauge table compilation, accuracy inspection of custody transfer Measurement System, as well as LNG quantity inspection services during On/Off Hire operations.

Truck scales are large-scale weighing instruments mainly used to measure the weight of cargo loaded on vehicles, and are used for measuring large cargo and heavy items. NKKK has installed truck scales with a capacity of 70 tons at Tokyo Port, Osaka Port, and Kobe Port, and conducts weighing certification business based on Article 110 of the Measurement Act.
We can also handle registered verification business for the Verified Gross Mass (VGM) system for international maritime export containers (amended SOLAS Convention), so please consult us separately. For fees, please contact each weighing station.

Weights used for crane load testing and counterweights undergo mass changes over time, so we recommend periodic inspection according to purpose of use, frequency, and storage conditions.

On November 26, 2024, we were designated by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as a “Designated Verification Organization focusing on instrument error verification” for automatic catching weighing instruments, and began verification operations for automatic catching weighing instruments. We can handle operations nationwide (all regional blocks).

NKKK, as an International Inspection and Survey Association, provides measurement certificates that are used for various purposes in shipping and international trading fields, such as customs formalities, calculation of freight, and third party reports for custody transfer of trading cargo. Certification of trading weight primarily for raw material import cargo. When importing cargo, accurate weight may be required as “commercial transaction quantity,” “import declaration quantity to customs,” and “quantity for insurance claims when cargo has shortage or damage.”
NKKK’s mass inspection accurately measures and certifies the weight of import cargo on a B/L basis, so it can be utilized as third-party certified values. In addition to measuring weight, we can also confirm packaging form, cargo-specific LOT numbers, cargo condition, quantity, etc. according to request contents.
